Health, Safety and Environment
Kivalliq is committed to meeting and exceeding all health, safety and environmental standards. Examples include: health, safety and environment orientations; daily and weekly safety meetings for field crew; and environmental monitoring, including wildlife, air and water quality. In 2013, Kivalliq also partnered with the Government of Nunavut on a caribou collaring program. As a result of its consistent efforts, Kivalliq has received recognition from several groups. These include the 2011 and 2012 Environmental Excellence Award presented by the Kivalliq Inuit Association, the top ranking for Code of Conduct in MacCormick’s Socially Responsible Junior Mine Companies 2012 and in the top 20 list for 2013. Kivalliq will continue to aim for excellence in all aspects of its activities related to health, safety, and the environment.
